First year Creative Writing student Ellie Dart, who is also the Worcestershire Young Poet Laureate, has written a new poem titled Finding Hope, as part of the Arches Fest programme of events.
The poem was written and performed to enhance the visitor’s digital experience of the installation art titled ‘In Memoriam’ by the artist Luke Jerrum @lukejerramartist, which is currently being exhibited at Pitch Croft racecourse. Ellie said, “When I wrote ‘Finding Hope’ I wanted to highlight that feeling of possibility which may have been lost during the pandemic. During lockdown I often found myself feeling futile, an emotion I am sure many faced, so I wanted to empower people to look ahead for the wonderful opportunities life offers. Through poetry, I strive to capture societal issues and emotions to encourage reflection of self and of the world around us.”
