Third year Creative writing student Faye Proctor has recently had two of her poems published. Throughout her time at the University of Worcester Faye has produced work that encapsulates strong emotions and she has sought out ways in her writing to discuss emotive issues. Now in her final year of studies Faye is starting to grow her writing CV by sending her portfolio of work out for publication.

‘Know Your Place’ is published at the online journal The Drabble and ‘Turning of the Bones’ can be read on the Mooky Chick website.

‘Turning of the Bones’ opens with a body being prepared for burial and examines how a community embraces the physicality of death rituals and celebrates a life:

Spray him with wine
he must smell like the life he lived
